Celebrate lemurs with us all October through an art challenge!
Join the 2023 World Lemur Festival Art Challenge to help us inspire the world to love lemurs and take action to save them from extinction. Each week from October 1 to October 28, we will provide a new lemur-themed prompt.
This year we are opening up the challenge to all types of art forms: photography, poetry, dance, drawing, painting, collage, whatever you can come up with! Use your creativity to help celebrate lemurs! We challenge artists of all ages to join the challenge by learning about different aspects of lemur biology: anatomy, behavior and habitats with exciting prompts.
Weekly Themes
- Week 1: 10/1-10/7 Portraits (close up of your favorite lemur face)
- Week 2: 10/8-10/14 Action shots (lemurs eating, leaping, playing, singing, or grooming)
- Week 3: 10/15-10/21 Family time (parents with babies or other family groups)
- Week 4: 10/22-10/28 In the wild (among trees, nature, with other animals)
Meet the Artists
The Lemur Conservation Network has provided small honorariums to 5 passionate wildlife artists who will help provide inspiration throughout the month. Each artist will post one artwork each week on social media.
You will also be able to purchase designs by these artists in the Lemur Conservation Network Shop. These limited edition designs will only be available from October 1 to December 31, 2023, so get ’em while you can!

Use our Hashtags to Win Items from Our Store!*
Each week, we will randomly select one lucky participant to win an item of their choosing from the Lemur Conservation Network shop. To participate, post your work on Twitter, Instagram, or Facebook with the hashtag #WorldLemurFestival and #LemurArtChallenge along with something fun you learned about lemurs!

You can see a list of countries under the country field of the shipping address. Unfortunately, TeeSpring does not ship to Madagascar. We can custom print and deliver limited items for winning artists living in Antananarivo only.
