Ecotrips for Zoo Staff

Join us on an Ecotrip to Madagascar!
We are offering a two week group tour to Madagascar for zoo staff in July to August 2026.
For the Lemur Conservation Network’s first group ecotrip to Madagascar, we plan to limit guests to those who work at zoos. We firmly believe in the power of zoos to educate the public about lemur conservation. We hope this trip will inspire our guests and give them hope that — together — we can save lemurs from extinction!
If we have open spaces, we may open the trip to individuals who do not work at zoos. Contact us at lemurconservationnetwork@gmail.com to express interest.
ABOUT THE ECOTRIP
The trip will be led by local tour operator, Miremby and LCN’s Director, Lynne Venart. We will travel by road to explore national parks, visit conservation programs, and see lemurs in the wild! In the parks, we will break into two groups for optimum wildlife watching.

ITINERARY
We will drive east to the rainforests of Andasibe to see the famous indri and many other lemur species, and participate in a reforestation project in the Ihofa Forest. Then, we will travel south to Ranomafana to visit the impressive Centre ValBio research station, see Milne-Edwards sifakas, and more. Farther south, we will meet ring-tailed lemurs at the community-led Anja Reserve.
Itinerary
We have planned our itinerary to include a variety of habitats and wildlife within driving distance of Madagascar’s capital city, Antananarivo. We will emphasize ethical wildlife tourism and only see lemurs in their natural habitats. We will also visit with several conservation organizations — both large and small — to learn how conservation works in Madagascar. We will meet Malagasy leaders who work with local communities to protect the island’s precious biodiversity.
